It makes a big difference to have the right information, at the right time, for the right shift.
For example: you’re checking the invoices for your locum staff, and you notice one of them is charging more per hour than you expected. The shift happened out of your working hours, and you’re not sure exactly what happened.
Maybe someone has cancelled and you need to reallocate the shift to someone else. You’re not sure who else previously applied for it, or who of your bank staff applied for it first.
Or perhaps the person who manages your staffing is off sick. You’re being inundated with questions, and you’re not sure who to ask about particular changes to different sessions.
To help solve all these problems, and plenty more, we made shift histories - now available in Rota Pro.
With shift histories, you can see the who, what, when and why of your shifts, from when they were first created, right through to when they are worked.
That includes shift information like:
That means you get the transparency you need to see what changes were made, by whom. It’s a more complete system of record, so you can have the information you need at your fingertips.
Take a look at this example shift. Starting with the shift's current details, you see most recent changes first, going all the way back to a shift's creation.
If you need to make any changes, the Edit shift button is right there so you can quickly update anything you need to.
To access the history of any particular shift, just find the shift on the rota and click on it.
This will open a card with a summary of information about the shift.
Click History on the bottom of the shift summary card.
The history of the shift will appear to the right-hand side of the screen in the sidebar.
Read more about how it works in the shift histories FAQ.
During the pandemic, the handover of information is more important than ever. Staff sicknesses or unplanned childcare responsibilities from school closures mean that there’s more change to stay on top of than usual.
Shift histories allow you to have that birds-eye, at-a-glance view of everything that pertains to each shift, so you know you have the information you need, and you can focus on doing what needs to get done.
We hope it makes your working lives a little easier.
