Your Data Is Safe With Lantum
One of the biggest changes to UK data privacy law comes into effect on the 25th of May - GDPR.
The GDPR is European Union (EU) legislation by which the European Parliament, the Council of the EU and the European Commission intend to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the EU. It’s a positive step toward protecting personal information and giving you more control!
What is considered “personal data?”
According to the GDPR, personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual, which could mean any information that could be used either on its own or in conjunction with other data, to identify an individual.
Sensitive personal data, such as passport numbers, passwords, health information, or information that suggests a person’s racial or ethnic origin will require even greater protection under the GDPR.
Lantum takes your personal data seriously. It’s a priority for us to ensure that the data we collect is secure and protected. We are making changes to our policies, processes, products and systems to ensure that we comply with the Regulation and continue to put data protection first.
With this regulation, you now have more rights under GDPR. GDPR includes the following rights for individuals:
The information regarding these rights will be listed in our Privacy Policy, along with what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and more.
What we’re doing to comply with GDPR
As an organisation that handles personal data (e.g. name, passport, email and personal address), Lantum is committed to ensuring that we are compliant with GDPR.
There is a 12 point checklist published by the ICO.

While there is still more work to be done, Lantum’s approach is not only to fix immediate concerns but to implement an ongoing audit through the use of Data Protection officers, to ensure that we are constantly challenging ourselves to put your privacy first in any advances made to our business.
We aim to ensure that data privacy is a day to day consideration across the whole of Lantum, for all of our team members and central to how we work - from recruiting and onboarding new employees to choosing which suppliers we’ll work with and launching new products and features.
What happens next?
As a Lantum customer, we’ll soon be asking you to choose how you‘d like to receive updates from us on features, products and offers. There will also be other opportunities when you speak to us in the coming months to let us know your preferences.
